The colour wheel below demonstrates how colours relate to each other and why some compliment each other whilst others make a contrast. The wheel can be split in half, one side cool tone (blue base) the other warm tone (yellow base).

When choosing pattern and texture limit yourself to a few core colours, inject subtle patterns that will flow together.
